Hi, I’m ashley petronzio, ibclc. My breastfeeding journey began in 2003 with the birth of my first child. Despite a difficult birth, my first born did amazing with breastfeeding and I naively believed it would always be that easy. Fast forward to my second baby, and I couldn’t have been more wrong! The two of us struggled with MANY of the common breastfeeding challenges including latch, thrush, mastitis, and poor weight gain. I learned so much about lactation during that relationship. Unfortunately at the time, I had NO idea Lactation Consultants existed. A year after her birth I was introduced to the profession and an opportunity to become an IBCLC. It felt like my calling. Almost 20 years later and 4 more babies, who would also challenge my knowledge and experience, I’m humbled by all the amazing families that have joined me in this journey.
